Welcome to PAWS -
Information for
New Clients

PAWS services are limited to physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, pain control, hydrotherapy and laser therapy. We work alongside your usual veterinarian if further diagnostics/ medications are needed (we do not have laboratory or xray facilities, and do not offer primary veterinary services or emergency services).

All new patients to us need to have seen their primary vet first to assess the injury and for the referral process. Following the referral, all new patients receive an initial extended-consult and assessment with our veterinarians. In this appointment we go through any relevant history and previous diagnostics as appropriate, do a physical assessment and outline what the issues are, what therapies are available (in clinic and out) and if appropriate, begin therapy.

The process for booking the initial consult will likely involve a wait time, according to current patient load and clinician/equipment availability. Prospective new patients are put on the waitlist (and automatically on a cancellation list) and clients are contacted if an appointment time becomes available. Unfortunately, given the amount of referrals being sent our way and having limited staff, reality is we will not be able to see every patient that gets referred to us. We can only take on so many patients at once to make sure we are able to offer the highest quality of care.
